NJ Governor Chris Christie Cancels ARC Tunnel Project for the Second and Final Time

For the second and final time NJ Governor Chris Christie has pulled the plug on the ARC Tunnel project, the nation’s largest public works project.  The state has already spent $600 million on the project and will have to give back $350 million to the federal government according to US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood.

The General Contractors Association released a statement saying, in part, “New Jersey has taken the easy way out by crushing a project before carefully examining all the options and partnering with the construction industry and business community who could have helped find a way to navigate a solution.”
