NY State Senate Proposes Budget that Cuts MTA Capital Program
The New York State Senate proposed a budget for New York State that would cut funding for the MTA capital program by $770 million and would fail to raise the MTA bond cap. These actions would put at risk $1 billion in critically needed capital construction projects that are ready to be bid now. Without authorization to borrow, the MTA cannot advance essential construction projects that have already been approved by the legislature. More than 26,000 jobs are at risk by this action.
