GCA members know that morning stretch and flex helps prevent injury.

Safety and Training

“Safety First” isn’t just a slogan, it’s a way of life for the members of the General Contractors Association. Their commitment to and culture of worksite safety exceeds any other segment of the construction market, and incident rates track well below the national, state and city construction industry averages.

With a goal of zero incidents, we provide our contractor members practical, hands-on and classroom safety training. Part of that commitment to Safety First is “Safety Week” – an opportunity to share new safety practices and techniques across the industry. Beyond “Safety Week,” the GCA offers ongoing OSHA 10 and 30 hour training and 32 hour Rigging Supervisor training. The GCA continuously introduces new training and awareness programs to keep our members up to date with the latest regulations, legislation and safety standards to meet the demands of the industry.

The GCA and our members know that when it comes to safety, there is no room for complacency or compromise. In addition to hands on and practical training, we keep our members abreast of industry developments, advocates on rulemaking, and shares ideas and best practices to ensure that every worker returns home to their family at the end of the day.

You must be a contractor member in good standing to register for the GCA’s safety training sessions. Email for more information about upcoming training classes.

The GCA connects its members to many resources within the construction industry and advocates for strong safety standards.
